Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment declared that Photometry Laboratory of Regional Centre for Lighting of R&D Branch having being found to comply with the accreditation criteria for testing/calibration laboratories as described in ISO/ IEC 17025: 2005, had been accredited as a testing laboratory under the field of Electrical and Photometry Testing. RCL Photometry laboratory conducts tests required for Energy labeling of CFLs, LED Lamps and measures space distribution and the relative parameters of lamps. All tests are conducted by RCL in highest standards encompassing the attributes of high degree of reliability, best laboratory practices, and trained qualified staff. RCL is the only accredited photometry laboratory in Sri Lanka.
RCL regularly conducts training programs, workshops, seminars for industry personnel engaged in Lighting Engineering to enhance the knowledge on energy efficient, reliable and clean lighting technologies and their applications to reduce electricity demand by lighting. RCL maintains a Library and information center for Lighting Engineering and conducts research and demonstration relevant to Lighting.
