The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) had recently uploaded a document titled “Electricity Generation Costs” to its website, indicating cost of generation from six selected plants including Coal power. However, the unit costs of Coal power plants thus published significantly differs from correct values by as much as 230%. The General Manager CEB had sent a letter highlighting the mistakes committed by PUCSL in arriving at such high unit costs and had also listed the actual cost of generation from the same list of plants selected by PUCSL in its report.
