Foundation Stone Laid for the Construction of Wind Barriers at Lakvijaya Power Station

Foundation stone, for the construction of wind barriers around the coal yard and the ash yard at Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Station, was laid by Hon. Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Chief Minister of North Western Province Dharmasiri Dasanayake on 22nd June 2018. The main purpose of the construction, is to minimize the release of coal dust and ash into the environment.
The Vice Chairman of Ceylon Electricity Board Mr. W. A. Gamini Wanasekara, General Manager Eng. A K. Samarasinghe, Additional General Manager (Generation) Eng. Mrs. D Tilakasena, Deputy General Manager (Lakvijaya Power Station) Eng. P. G. P. Indrasiri Gallage and many officials participated in the event.
